You’ve found the home you want to buy. Now choose the way in which that home is inspected. Pillar To Post offers three different Home Inspection Packages that allow you to select the range of services you prefer, so you can have peace of mind about buying the home you love.

A professional home evaluation of all major items inside and outside the home is the core of the Pillar To Post inspection. Our inspectors conduct a visual inspection of accessible systems and components of the home including:

All Pillar To Post inspectors are members of regional, state, national, and all inspections are conducted within the Standards of Practice of these associations.

We professionally inspect residential single and multi-unit homes, apartment buildings, and light commercial office/retail buildings within 2-4 hours by utilizing the ASHI Professional Standards of Practice.

Clients are encouraged to attend and participate in the inspection of their home. During the inspection we will highlight the home’s strengths and/or improvements needed to help save you money and time in negotiations.

Upon completion, a computerized Inspection Report will be printed and emailed to you on-site.

All information is provided to you in a customized binder for easy reference, enabling you to make a confident, informed decision about the home.

The EPA, Surgeon General, American Medical Association, and World Health Organization are all in agreement that Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer (behind smoking) around the world.

Radon is a radioactive gas that is found in every home. This means new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements.

Radon testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk in your new home, which is why we recommend a Radon test with every home inspection.

A simple test determines if the concentration or levels of radon in you home warrant installation of a mitigation system which keeps radon out of your house.

Every home with a properly working radon mitigation system is better than a home without.


Small insects (e.g. termites, powder post beetles, and carpenter bees) silently feeding off the structure of your home can cause big problems.

Signs that a termite infestation has settled into your home can be difficult to spot. We recommend that every home we inspect include a termite inspection.

Often the lender requires a copy of a termite or Wood Destroying Insect (WDI) Report.


Mold exists almost everywhere and plays a critical role in our environment. Therefore, all homes have mold to a certain extent. But how do you know if the mold in your home is dangerous?

All indoor mold growth is potentially harmful and should be removed.

If there are visible signs of mold, if there was a previously disclosed moisture issue in the home, if you or family members have health issues that would be compounded by mold (e.g. allergies, respiratory issues, immune disorders, etc.), or you are just generally concerned about the health risk, potential damage to the structure related to mold we recommend that you perform a simple test which will help you understand this risk at the time of your investment.


Do you know the current condition of the septic system in your home or future home? What about the water quality in the well? Now you can get two great inspection services in one! Septic systems are a good way to treat waste – as long as they are functioning properly. Although out of sight, please don’t put your septic system out of mind! Faulty septic systems can be extremely hazardous since improperly treated effluent can harm both the homeowner's health and the health of the environment, as well as extremely costly to repair if they deteriorate.

The water quality of your home is a key source in your overall health but it can be affected by many factors. There could be possible contaminants in your water and the only way to be certain is to take test samples and obtain a detailed lab report.
